Brian Kuwabara, Co-Artistic Director of Grumble Productions, is an actor, devisor, director, and improviser. As an actor he has performed nationally and internationally, including credits with Rogue Artists Ensemble (Los Angeles, CA), Dell’Arte Company (Blue Lake, CA), and Black Sheep Theatre (Ottawa, ON). As an improviser he founded and directed the Los Angeles-based improv troupe, Knights of Comedy, and has credits including Wet Cookies, Comedy Sports, and LA Festival of Sketch Comedy. Brian has his BA in Theater Performance from Chapman University and received his MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, where he trained as an ‘actor-creator’, studying the development of original, physically driven work in ensemble. He has since created over 30 original pieces for the stage and has been touring internationally with Poe and Mathews: a Misadventure in the Middle of Nowhere, an absurd clown show and Sherlock Holmes: The case of the Hansom Cab Killer a hilarious Holmes romp. In 2011, Brian co-founded Grumble Productions with Emily Windler and together they work to create imaginative and unexpected original theatre.
